Variety is your friend when it comes to buying tickets online. Let’s say you want to go to see the World Series because part of the championship is being played right near you. Awesome! But, tickets sold out long before you could get a pair for you and your husband. Now, the biggest game in all of Major League Baseball is going on, practically next door to you, and you can’t go.
What do you do?
You could either try buying from someone on the street, or you could go to a ticket site and order from the comfort of your couch. If you go to the street, you’re likely to pay a few thousand dollars per ticket, and you might miss the first few innings as you search for tickets that seem semi-reputable. If you order through a ticket site, then you don’t have to worry about missing any of the game, and you don’t have to worry about the validity of your tickets. Instead, the only thing you really need to worry about is the price and where you’ll be sitting. And with all of these things prominently featured before you order, this is just a matter of scrolling through web pages to find something that looks good to you.
The difficult comes in when you can’t find tickets at your normal go-to site. Let’s say you usually use TicketLiquidator, but it’s a few days before the game, and they have no tickets listed. Instead of worrying, you can use the power of diversity and variety for your benefit. Sign up for their alert service so that you can get a text or an email when World Series tickets are available, and then go look at a different site. There are many reputable sites out there, and if one or two of them don’t have what you’re looking for, another one likely will. So, go check out StubHub or TicketNetwork or VividSeats. Just because one place doesn’t have what you need doesn’t mean that all of them won’t.
What do we recommend? First, don’t limit yourself. Yes, it’s great to have a favorite site to use, and that’s perfectly okay. In many cases, it’s even smart. If a site has a loyalty program where you can earn points or rewards for buying from them multiple times, this can save you a ton of money over the long term. But that’s certainly not the only way to save money on your tickets. Pretty much every site will have benefits of some sort or another at any given time, so looking around to find the best deals is also a huge benefit to you. Saving a few bucks here and there every single time you buy tickets will have immense savings for you over the long run. So, not only will you get into the best shows and other events out there, but you will save money doing it. Again, variety isn’t just the spice of life; it’s a way for you to maximize your fun and your money.
The World Series is just one example here. It can be applied to any sporting event, big or small, and it can be applied to any other type of event. Concert, comedy club shows, musicals, anything, really. If you can’t find tickets to what you want in one place, somewhere else is likely to have them. So keep looking, and you’ll find what you’re looking for. And, if you are extremely diligent about your search, you might even pay less than face value for tickets, even for the huge events like the World Series.
